Michael Nicholas has spent over 30 years working either as a leader himself, or in helping other leaders to transform their impact, influence, creativity, adaptability and resilience. He is an experienced coach, award-winning professional speaker and successful author, specialising in decision-making, emotional intelligence and employee engagement.
Having done his first coaching course in 1996, which transformed his level of interest in learning how to help others to maximise their potential, Michael started his training business in 2004. This allowed him to focus exclusively on this area. He has since worked with many leaders from a wide variety of types and sizes of companies, ranging from leading FTSE corporations, through SMEs, to small and dynamic entrepreneurial businesses. Before that, his experience includes having held several senior business positions himself, active service as a military officer in the first Gulf War, and the rigorous scientific training required to become a chartered engineer.
With this track record of delivering results in a range of challenging environments, Michael both understands, and has personally learnt to deal with, the pressures his clients must handle to meet performance expectations in the face of uncertainty, time pressures and shifting goal posts. More importantly, he has a proven ability to convey what he’s learnt to others. His results-oriented ideas are both progressive and robustly practical, being grounded in real-world know-how amassed during decades of relevant experience. Furthermore, he knows the dangers of complacency, and constantly challenges himself and others to question conventional wisdom and to continue to revolutionise thinking and behaviour. This mindset enables the barriers to, and requirements for, high performance to be addressed at root cause, creating high quality, lasting change and sustainable improvements in results.
Michael is also the author of three books, the most recent of which, “The Little Black Book of Decision Making: Making Complex Decisions with Confidence in a Fast-Moving World”, was published internationally in July ’17 by Capstone Publishing with immediate success.
