ABOUT – LISA ÅKESSON

I am passionate about empowering aspiring business people and leaders around the world to become confident, captivating and influential communicators.

I have spent over 20 years in the business world as a Voice and Presentation Skills Expert and am also an Executive Coach. I enjoy working in leadership development, learning about new cultures, and supporting each business individual to communicate their message with authenticity, clarity, and impact.

My clients range from the public to private sector. I work with CEOs, C- Suites, Board Members, Politicians, Luxury Brand Designers, Professionals, TV Anchors, and Entrepreneurs.

I am hugely passionate about empowering women to reclaim their space, unlock their voices and realise their vision. I co-designed and lead a new course on “Impactful Negotiations for Women”. I have also co-created and run a highly successful 3-day programme for RADA Business entitled “Executive Presence for Women” and deliver courses on “Empowered Leadership for Women.” In this capacity, I was invited as a specialist guest speaker on BBC Radio 4’s “Women’s Hour” to discuss the effective use of voice for women in Political and Leadership positions.

With the Black Lives Matter movement, I have been asked by a number of global companies to design and deliver courses that empower Black talent to reach leadership position. Currently, I am delivering a programme entitled “Accelerated Progression for Black and Ethnic minorities leaders.”

As an Executive Coach (Henley Business School), I work in partnership with my clients to identify their goals, harness their skills and navigate their way to new and creative choices for their careers. I am an ICF (ACC) accredited coach. Also, as a qualified Lumina Spark Psychometrician and a Licensed Practitioner of Motivational Maps, I enable individuals and teams develop greater self-awareness and find the motivation they need to perform at their best and co-create positive results in their companies.

My journey began in the theatre as an Actress. I became a Voice Coach, getting my Postgraduate Diploma in Voice Studies from the renowned Royal Central School of Speech & Drama (RCSSD). I worked at LAMDA training Actors on their voices for stage, film, and television – many of whom have played major roles in Hollywood films, West End theatres, Netflix and BBC series.

I am a Master Practitioner of NLP and am heavily influenced by the rich teachings of Marshall Rosenburg’s Non-Violent Communication (NVC) to manage conflict in the workplace.

Whilst based just outside London, I travel nationally and internationally and have worked with clients in Canada, U.S.A, Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, Iceland, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

I enable men and women to overcome the barriers that hold them back to realise their full potential so they can become credible, authentic and memorable communicators who affect positive change in others and in the world.
